Mrs. Theodore
Originally from Texas, I found my way to Arkansas through Hendrix College. I graduated from Hendrix in 2003 and shortly after got married and decided to stay in beautifully natural Arkansas. I began my education career teaching second grade and two years later moved to third grade. It was everything I thought it would be and more! While teaching second grade I was encouraged to take some Gifted and Talented courses at UALR. After those first classes I was hooked on the g/t path!! I graduated from UALR with a Master's in Gifted Education in May 2008. I have been teaching in the Gifted and Talented classroom since 2008.
Teaching is my absolute passion! I love to see students embrace and enjoy education. FHSA is an amazing school for students to enjoy learning! This summer I was excepted into the Mickelson Exxon Mobil Teachers Academy in Jersey City, NJ. It was an intensive week long academy to better understand STEM education. This experience was truly the best professional development I've ever had. I can't wait to bring what I learned into my classroom.
When my work day is done I head home with my own two children, Blaine (8) and Brooklyn (6), and to my husband, Robby. We are a very active family--heading to Traveler's games, soccer, libraries, vacations, and swimming. One of my favorite hobbies is running. I ran my first half marathon in March 2011 and have run 13 more since!! I already have four more planned for this year!
Please feel free to contact me with any concerns or questions. My door is always open!
